Frizzante opened in 2002 at the Hackney City Farm with the aim to provide a local restaurant, catering for adults and children, in a venue that is unique in the East End of London. Hackney City Farm provides a tranquil environment that seems miles away from a city, yet borders on Broadway Market, Columbia Road flower market, Brick Lane and Bishopsgate right in the heart of the City of London.
All our food is freshly cooked on the premises using seasonal ingredients often sourced from local farms in Kent. On our Thursday supper nights we often use (when available) ingredients from the Farms own vegetable gardens. Our ethos is that whether young or old fresh simple food should be a positive experience and educating children to appreciate different flavours and tastes is part of an Italian tradition that we can all appreciate.
2010 has seen the opening of a new Frizzante at the Surrey Docks Farm. A lovely place next to the river where we'll be offering our homemade Italian ice-cream, coffees, cakes and Sunday roasts.
We have received the Time Out Award for Best Family Restaurant and we often receive great write ups in both the local and national press. Frizzante is an independent local business and were proud to be part of the growing appreciation of food both simple and rustic that is now part of London.
Hackney City Farm is a unique environment located on the border of Shoreditch and within 10 mins. of Liverpool St station. On weekends the Columbia Road Flower market which is opposite and nearby the Spitalfields Market create an enjoyable day out.
The Cafe area can be hired for evening events and there is a separate room that can hold up to 30 people which can be used for meeting or seminars during the day, also popular for Children's parties on the weekend.
A full catering service can be provided.
If you would like to have a private party for a special event, birthday or even wedding, we can arrange something to suit both your requirements and budget. Please email us on info@frizzanteltd.co.uk if you ring we may not be able to answer as we are probably in the kitchen working.
